Playground Global

Working in collaboration with ArcTec, Skyline joined the project early in the design process to provide constructability reviews, value engineering, and full design-build services for all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The space includes specialized electronic labs designed for testing and prototyping hardware, supporting Playground Global’s focus on supporting next-generation computing and emerging technologies. A fully equipped woodshop provides the tools and flexibility needed for crafting physical prototypes and bringing ideas to life. Additional amenities include a commercial kitchen, collaborative zones, and a variety of whimsical design elements such as a mezzanine-to-ground-floor metal slide, an arcade, and a full-height fabricated tree wrapping around a central structural column.

One of the project’s most impressive logistical feats was the use of a helicopter to install 30 HVAC units onto the roof in just 45 minutes. Due to the building’s length and tight site conditions, a crane would have required an extended boom and at least two full days of installation time. By coordinating a helicopter lift, Skyline minimized disruption, reduced costs, and helped keep the overall schedule on track.
