Skyline recently completed a new training facility for Ironworkers Local 63 is helping shape the future of the trades in Chicago. We partnered with Gensler to create a space that supports hands-on learning, skill-building, and long-term career development. Key features of the new Ironworkers Local 63 Training Facility include:
- A 13,600-square-foot, steel-framed structure with a 50-foot-tall open training bay
- A multistory steel mock-up for curtain wall installation practice
- A 5-ton bridge crane for lifting heavy materials like steel beams and curtain wall panels
- A 20-foot-tall vacuum chamber for curtain wall water-testing
- Curved east and west elevations with black-tinted glass, providing visibility into the facility and ample daylight
