The 41-year construction veteran to oversee on-site and office project teams

Skyline Construction is proud to announce the promotion of Tony Fontanetta to Vice President of Operations.

A member of the Chicago office since its inception, Tony’s leadership and field expertise as general superintendent have shaped the firm’s ability to deliver high-quality, commercial interior, ground up, and industrial construction projects across the region.

In his role as Vice President, Tony will oversee both field execution and office operations, bringing together the full spectrum of project delivery. He is both an expert builder, and a cultural leader who is laser focused on meeting client’s needs, while mentoring the next generation of construction teams. Tony puts an emphasis on speed to market, delivering construction projects ahead of schedule for clients, and full project transparency through open communication and a solutions-oriented approach.

“Tony has been the cornerstone of our operational excellence since day one,” said Andy MacGregor, President of Skyline’s Illinois office. “His insight into field coordination, constructability, and trade partner relationships is second-to-none. Because of his strong leadership and mentorship abilities, he creates a culture of accountability, foresight, and quality that will forge Skyline into its next stage of growth. ”

Beginning his career as a carpenter more than 40 years ago, Tony’s hands-on background provides a unique and invaluable perspective that will continue to elevate Skyline’s operations.

“Having started my career with a toolbelt and a framing square, I’ve seen firsthand what it takes to deliver complex projects in a fast-paced urban market,” Fontanetta said. “What drives me now is building strong teams that can translate design vision and client expectations into reality through speed, collaboration and precision. I’m honored to lead our operations team as we continue to grow.”
