Skyline Construction welcomes Thomas Mueller and Navid Kalantarian as Project Directors in the Silicon Valley office. Both bring decades of experience leading large, complex projects across the Bay Area, from multi-floor corporate buildouts to multi-building campuses. They now bring that expertise to Skyline’s fast-paced tenant improvement portfolio.

For clients, their arrival represents more than added leadership. It reflects Skyline’s commitment to combining the discipline of large-scale construction with the agility of tenant improvements, ensuring projects of every size are executed with precision, consistency, and foresight.

Leading Projects of Every Scale

Thomas and Navid bring decades of experience managing large, complex projects in the Bay Area. That background positions them to guide Skyline’s fast-paced tenant improvements while also taking the lead on major campus developments as the company grows. Their insight ensures Skyline can scale with clients as their construction needs evolve, from a quick interior refresh to a $100+ million campus.

Thomas explains how the fundamentals of large projects translate to any size:

“Whether a project is $5 million or $200 million, the core process is the same: strong preconstruction planning, a well-structured team, disciplined subcontractor management, and clear client communication. Larger jobs simply involve more people and longer timelines. For tenant improvements, speed is the priority, and we adapt by problem-solving quickly and keeping every detail on track, so clients never feel that urgency.”

His focus on disciplined planning comes from years of managing some of the Bay Area’s most demanding projects. Thomas’s own experience spans everything from sophisticated tenant interiors to technical core-and-shell work. On one standout tech-campus buildout, he coordinated below-grade construction, a parking garage, and a complex structural connection coupled with high-end interiors including a feature stair, custom wood paneling, and acoustically sensitive spaces—expertise he now applies to Skyline’s Silicon Valley portfolio.

Navid emphasizes the creativity and relationship management that come with commercial interiors, and how that skillset carries into large developments: “Tenant improvement projects demand creativity and precision. You have to balance speed with detail while maintaining strong relationships. Skyline excels at keeping those relationships positive, which is just as critical on large developments.”

That same creativity and relationship management informs how he approaches project delivery itself. Navid brings extensive design-build experience, a growing need in the South Bay where “clients want a full-service partner, not just a general contractor.” By integrating design and construction teams from the start, Navid explains, Skyline can shorten schedules and align budgets with design intent, offering the single point of accountability that many tech and life-science clients prefer.

Scaling with Clients in Silicon Valley

Both directors see Skyline as a long-term partner capable of growing with clients, but each brings a unique approach to that vision. “We want Skyline to be known as the premier Silicon Valley builder that can scale with our clients,” Thomas said. “From a 25,000-square-foot office refresh to a multi-building campus, we have the experience and systems to deliver every time.”

He also points to current market conditions which include rising construction costs and a surplus of unused real estate, which is a natural opportunity for Skyline’s core strength in tenant improvements. Owners are investing in upgrades rather than new ground-up construction, and Skyline is perfectly positioned for this work.

Navid focuses on repeat business and team development while emphasizing Skyline’s ability to deliver the integrated services at  a client’s  request. “Tech and life-science companies need partners who can provide real-time constructability feedback and  proactive guidance to manage costs effectively,” he said. “Considering the growth of the team in the South Bay, Skyline is well set up to meet that demand.”
