Matt is an experienced preconstruction and construction management executive with a focus on technology and professional services projects. He partners with architects, construction managers and landlords to deliver the highest quality projects for our clients.
HIS BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Matt began his career in construction management through a summer internship during college. He studied physics and economics but landed in construction management, realizing he wanted to be a part of something tangible. Matt worked for two other general contractors in the Bay Area before meeting Skyline’s CEO, David Hayes, and becoming intrigued by his management philosophy: “David’s approach was refreshing; he focused on what Skyline was doing right, rather than what the competition was doing wrong.” Ultimately Matt was excited to grow Skyline’s Silicon Valley office and be part of an employee-centric company structure.
BEING A LEADER AT SKYLINE
As a leader and a mentor, Matt likes to provide the tools for his team to do their jobs successfully. He makes himself available as a resource, but does not micro-manage: “That’s not my style. I like my team to own their work, learn from their experiences and use me as a guide and resource. A Jedi Master to their padawan, if you will.”
HIS INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
Matt’s passions are to create and build. When he is not building on the job, he is building furniture and working with this wife and two kids on home improvement projects, and expanding their massive Lego collection.
