MANAGER OF LABOR AND SAFETY COORDINATOR
Alfredo assigns, oversees, inspects and evaluates the work of our field labor team. He is responsible for training methods, implementing standard procedures across all job sites and ensuring applicable codes and regulations are met.
HIS BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
Alfredo began his career in demolition and developed a passion for construction during his work in the residential sector. He met General Superintendent Mike Wertz on a Skyline jobsite where he was contracted to perform demolition work. Mike immediately noticed Alfredo’s strong work ethic and offered him the opportunity to work for Skyline: “I made the mistake back then to say no, but luckily a couple of years later Mike still considered me for the job and hired me.” Alfredo has been an instrumental member of the Skyline team since he joined in 2010: “I think Skyline is a great company to work for. It’s the type of company that offers endless opportunity to those willing to learn and grow.”
HIS MANAGEMENT PHILOSOPHY
Currently, Alfredo leads and mentors Skyline’s labor force. His philosophy and motivation for work is to find solutions; he believes there is always a way to make it work, a mentality that he strives to instill in his team: “I like to teach by example, sharing my experience in the field with everyone. I would like the next generation to know that with dedication and hard work, they can achieve anything. Sometimes it’s not easy and doors will close, or the timing will be off, but never give up. I never thought 18 years ago that I would be where I am today, but hard work does pay off.”
HIS INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
Alfredo and his wife have two beautiful children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, staying active at the gym and playing soccer. He is currently coaching his son’s soccer team.
